Fall in Minnewaska

Minnewaska State Park Popular and pretty, this park — located within a few miles of New Paltz, NY — is ideal for casual strolls or mini-hikes on largely flat trails and carriage roads built for wealthy urbanites and others who visited this area for relaxation and country pleasures a hundred years ago or so. Only one of the grand hotels that once graced the Catskills area remains: the Mohonk Mountain House, which remains an exclusive resort to this day.
