This small pack has some features that can be hard to find in such a compact package — for example, two compression straps on each side. It served well on Mt Whitney, big enough to handle the necessary for a Fall trip (including crampons). Despite the narrow width of the belt, it’s functional and serves to stabilize as well as to take some of the load onto the hips. Like the other Black Diamond Speed packs I’ve used, the hydration pocket, port, and tube-holder work very well.
