Jim, Carsten, and I flew from Newark (EWR) to Geneva (GVA) in the evening of August 15 and were up at Gornergrat the following for the incredible views, a little food, and some acclimatization afternoon. With almost three weeks ahead of us, we started out with some good weather — which we enjoyed pretty much the whole trip.
Establishing our base in a handful of locations – in the villages of Zermatt, Tasch, and Saas Fee — and in mountain huts and hotels (Gandegg, Tasch and Dom) — we covered a good bit of ground on this late-summer alpine trip.
All in all, a full trip with lots of vertical gain, awesome views, and some good work on land and snow.
